What is Rapid City BCycle?
Rapid City Bcycle was started with a conversation between Destination Rapid City and Rapid City Parks and Recreation.
The first station and six bicycles installed by Destination Rapid City to place near Main Street Square in Downtown Rapid City. Once South Dakota School of Mines & Technology officials heard about Bcycle, their Student Activities department allocated money for a second station and four bicycles to be placed on campus.
The system was launched in July 2014, with the intent to add more stations and bicycles in various places in Rapid City, including along the Leonard Swanson Memorial Pathway that runs through the center of Rapid City.
